That guy in Iowa was only partially right…

… Newt has become an embarrassment to the entire species of mankind.

Paraphrasing a Gladys Knight and The Pips’ hit from many years ago,  He should be leaving on the midnight train to Georgia!

Newt Gingrich continues to walk back his Sunday “Meet The Press” appearance quotes condemning GOP Rep. Paul Ryan’s plans for Medicare as “right-wing social engineering”.  Here’s a link to the transcript of the now notorious episode.

During a Tuesday appearance with FOX News’ Greta van Susteren, Newt detailed his personal apology to Ryan and did his darnedest to ban Democrats from using his words against him and other Republicans in the coming general election:

I don’t know why my friends waste their time on reality television… this is sooooooooooo much more entertaining.  The Newt is doing a terrific job reminding Republicans why they were so excited to see him leave Washington, DC in disgrace so many years ago.

The Democrats don’t need to worry about using him in any ads.

Speaking of embarrassments, the the idiot governor of South Carolina (really, it’s been so long since we’ve had any other kind) Nikki Haley decided it was a good idea to join in on the Gingrich beat down.

I, for one, seriously doubt she’s even read the Ryan budget proposal and wonder how long it will take for this media moment to become no longer useful and set on the curb.
